Whole Jenkins Family!! (in las vegas that is)

Noah is going to be training on Monday to become a trainer. He is excited and this is a big deal for him. There have been several people in his facility that have been there longer then him and have more ratings then him that got passed over. Noah and one other guy that has been there about the same time got picked for the two new trainer positions. Noah says that he feels sorry for anyone he has to train. I dont agree I think he will make a great trainer, and obviously so do the people at work who make those decisions. A few weeks ago Noah also had a email confusion at work, that lead him to find out how the Chief felt about him. When they approached the chief about this problem, (they thought he had gotten orders to Korea, dont worry it was just a mix up) but the Chief was adment that he was going to fix it because he was not going to lose Noah. He told him that he was one of the best controllers in the facility and that he did not cause problems, that he was a quiet guy that he never had to worry about and that if he ever had to go overseas for a mission that he wanted Noah with him (ahhhh dont take my husband overseas just yet, but a nice compliment.) So to sum it up, Noah is doing great at work and its not going unnoticed.

We also went to the zoo on Tuesday. It was not very big but it was neat because its a zoo for endangered animals and/or animals in recovery or who were harmed in the wild and would not be able to survive were they still in the wild. It was neat because there were peacocks just walking up and down the trails, they were very neat, there were also mommy chicks and baby chicks walking all over too. I was so excited when one of the peacocks opened its feathers, it was beautiful. Noahs favorite was of course the Tiger, and it was very neat because we got to see all the animals upclose because of the nature of the zoo. The tiger walked right by the fence and then went and took a bath in the pool and swatted flies, she was so beautiful. They had her there to breed because she would not survive in the wild, she and her mate had 6 cubs before he passed away.

Well I guess that about sums it all up for now. Nothing to exciting with me, all the things I tell you about Landon are the things that are happening to me, so whatever I tell you about him is the joys and excitments of my life too. My family is my joy!!!

Getting bigger by the second!

Landon has his first self fed Spaghetti eating experience last night. I loved it but made a real big messy that mommy had to clean up. He was so cute, I loved to watch him and see the mess he made, of course into the tub he went and we had spaghetti floaties. Just wanted to share the cute little man I have.

Landon is still trying to figure out grass, if you try to set him down in it bare foot he will pull his feet up and tuck them into his body so they cant touch the grass. But this time he had jammies on and so he did not feel the grass.
He was helping us with the junk mail ads we get in the mail daily, he was throwing them away for me.He is crawling on the pavement I have been so worried about the cement being too hot and all the bugs, but the bug man came and sprayed and it was early evening so the cement was not hot so I let him venture out on his own, he crawled out the door and down the ledge and into the yard.
He is testing the grass to make sure its okay. He felt it and then would pick it up and look at it and show it to me, then he would run his hands over the grass really really fast to feel it under his hands. It so neat to watch him learn and grow. It brings tears to my eyes when he figures out something new and shows it to me, or when I watch him and the expression on his face when he finally figures something out, its truly priceless and what being a stay at home mom is all about.

Obviously he did not want to hear what ever was being said.

Giving his mommy kisses!!! I love it!!

I found Noahs hat and decided to play with it, I love his beautiful eyes in these pictures and his long eye lashes. Everyone is always telling me how beautiful "she" is and when I correct them (even though he always has on blue or something manly/boyish) they always say, "oh sorry its just those big beautiful eyes and his long eye lashes." they are amazing but he is A BOY!!!! I love the pictures of him playing with the hat I think he looks so cute, he is so much fun to play with and to watch. He laughs all the time and just loves to play with everything.

(my favorite pictures, where you can see his cherry cheeks and gorgeous eyes.)

Life with Toddler Landon

Landon is a mess!!! In a good way of course. He is starting to explore everything since he can crawl, he wants to know what everything is and will point at things or hand things to us and say "Wah?" which we have interpreted to mean "what?" and so we tell him and he will take it away and bring us something new. He thinks the grand father clock is a book shelve and tries to put his books in there, needless to say it does not work so well. He also loves to play the piano so its nice that we have on of the new age electric ones where you can turn it off and he can pushthe keys to his hearts content.
He has discovered that things with whells can be pushed around and they will move. We got him a set off blocks that come in a box with wheels and he pushes it all over, we have blocks all over the house, he has recently discovered that its just small enough to fit under the couch so he will push it under the couch and then lay down on his tummy and reach under there to pull it out. Ah the things that amuse children.

He has also discovered the shoe shelf and loves to remove the shoes, there is not point in having a shelf because they never stay on there.... he also tried to sit in the self but he is a little to big so he gets frustrated.
His latest discovery is the dryer or the dirty close basket. He loves to help me with the laundry and will hand it to me while I am folding it and then get me a new piece, but now that he can crawl he gets to the dirty close basket in the hall and pulls all the close out, he also goes into his room and pulls all his clothes out of his giraffe bag and throws them all over. He goes into rooms and shuts the door then sits behind it so we can not go in there to get him out... smart kid!!! except when he is done and ready to leave he is stuck and starts to whimper then we have to coax him away from the door so we can open it. The newest task is removing the clean clothes and putting them on the floor and then walking away. I turned the corner because he had disapered and found him half way into the dryer, feet off the floor and all trying to get something in the very back, I ran to get the camera but he was out by the time I got a picture taken... its still too cute.

The mess mommy is left with, in the left mid/edge of the picture you can see the white bottom of his footie Pjs crawling quickly away from the crime scene and into mama and dadas bedroom where he has learned to open doors.... a mothers work is never done.
He has to stand up everywhere and loves to play with the little 8 years old, Rhey, that I watch every day. He loves her! He follows her everywhere and has really come out of his shell since we started watching her, before he hated to play with kids and was scared and would cry and now he is like "mom leave me alone my friends are here and Im going to play." he is such a goof. She tots him around like a baby and he does not know what to do but he just follows... he wants to do what big kids do.

Started rolling over on his tummy to sleep and we find him in the weirdest positions, Noah says he wishes he could sleep that could and in that many weird ways and not wake up feeling like he got beat up. :O) Ahh to be little again!!!! I love to go in his room and watch him sleep, he is such a little angel and I can not believe how lucky we are to have such an amazing creature from God, we are so blessed.
HEY!!!!! He is now using a sippy cup. He kept stealing our friends 18 month old daughet, Maren's, cup so we got him his own and he loves it. He still wants a bottle of milk in the morning and one for naps, and he wants a bottle in the car when he is sleepy or scared but majority of the time is a sippy cup... makes our life lots easier and not so messy!!!

The child hates to sit still long enough to change his diaper. The day I took these pictures, I layed him on the floor because he hates the changing table and as soon as I got his diaper off he was up and away. He is so quick and so strong, good thing he was not poopy! Althought when he is poopy I think he knows to sit still or make a mess because he is good when its time to change poop, probably wants it off his bottom. He does scratch down there though and I just know one of these days he is going to get poop on his hands during a diaper change.... then it will require mommy and daddy doing the changing. I can not believe how quick and strong he is, he moves so fast, we call him White Lightening!!! I love these pictures!

Getting into trouble!!! Pulling all his Noahs arc things onto the floor, Mommy caught him before he did too much damage!!! Landons real name must be Hudini!!! Magic little kid!
Landon has gotten a few more words that we are pretty sure we know what they mean we have got it down from what he does when he says the word so here they are. "ESSS" Is Yes, we will ask him a question, "more juice?" "More toys?" and he will say "esss" so we are pretty sure its yes. And then "ohhh" when we tell him "no no bad boy" he will like at us and say "oh" so we will say no again and he will say "ohhh" so we think that means No, and lastly of the new words is "wah" like I said earlier, when he tell him something he will say "wah?" and cock his head to the side so we are pretty sure it means "what?"

We went to the pool at my moms house today and Landon was not so sure about the water it took him a bit to get used to it then he started paddling with his arms and going in circles he also kicked his little legs too and was having a blast, after a bit we just let him float around on his own and he was loving it, the sun was making him sleepy though so he got out and went to the sand area with Nana. He loves to play in the sand and we got him a house set for the sand, but we forgot to bring it with us... we are taking it to Hawaii, I know he is going to have a blast. I am glad we got him used to the water so he will go in the pool in Hawaii, I am still scared to let him in the ocean because I wont even brave it myself, so we will see if Noah can talk me into letting Landon go in, if it does not scare him. Hope you enjoy the pictures, we love you all!!!

Landon and his Nana (my mom) plaing in the sand at the volleyball court. He loves to play in the sand.

Noah is offical

I forgot to tell everyone the good news. Noah is an offical controller, has been for a while now, but now he can work with out anyone else working with him. He does not have to assist anyone, he can do it on his own. YEAH!!! He is almost done with the majority of his training as well and can work anywhere he wants, as long as they will have him, (an why wouldnt they, he is amazing) He also had his yearly PT test and passed it, YEAH!! He has lost 18 pounds which is a shocker, we have been portion controlling and he has lost that much weight, when I have lost only a pound, what is up with that? :O) He is also going to be up for BTZ (senior airman below the zone.) which means he gets to put on his next strip, SRA in November if he makes it, which is also a pay raise for us, so that will be nice. Anyway, just wanted to give you the good news.

Landon is on the move

Sorry its been so long since I updated this, I promised myself today that I would start doing it on a weekly basis, lets see if that sticks or not. Landon is doing so many cute things lately that I want to tell everyone so I figured I could keep track for myself as well as yall if I started updating our blog more. So here goes.

Landon loves taking a bath, and now that he can stand up there is no stopping this kid. He grabs onto the edge and pulls himself up, we have to clear off the ledge of all the shampoos and soaps so that he will not get them because thats the first thing he goes for, no matter how many toys we give him he still wants the "big kid" stuff. He is a little pistol. He still loves to suck on his wash rag to get his water for the day. Once he has "drank" all the water out of the wash rag he will stick it back in the water and "refill" it then drink some more. Too smart for his own good.

(here he has just "refilled" the wash rag)

Landon has a little soccer ball (a Barbie one) that one of the kids I watch gave him and it just big enough to fit into his mouth with out him chocking on it and small enough that he can almost close his mouth. It scares me when he crawls around with it in his mouth, Im so afraid he is going to fall and shove it down his throat, but we have world war III on our hands if we try and take it away from him. I give it to him in his pack n play now cause, (i thought) he could not get into too much trouble with it in there. I also put his other ball toys in there with him too, the ones his Mimi sent him. The are nerf balls and I believe all of them have a chunk missing as well as teeth marks all over them. The loves to throw them out of the pack n play and yell MAMA!!! He thinks its a fun game, it is not so much fun for MAMA!!!! He loves to "play fetch" with everyone, he will drop toys behind the pews at church and make who ever is behind us pick it up, usually its some one elses little kids so they dont mind. But as soon as they give it back to him he laughs and does it again, after two times the toy is mamas! He now does it with his bottles as well, that makes a big mess!
Noah is so proud of Landon using his LEFT HAND to throw. He loves his baseball! He will throw it and then try to catch them when we toss it back, he usually winds up just clapping his hands together instead of catching it, its so cute. He also loves to throw is and then crawl after it, pick it up and throw it again, that game amuses him for quite a while. We took it to church with us and when he was fussing and fidgeting, (he does not like to sit still for too long) and then kept trying to crawl away I took him to the foyer and put him down on the floor and he played that game for awhile, till other little kids came out and took the ball from him then he would just crawl after them looking upset and confused, that made mommy a little upset, so when one of the kids threw the ball at Landon to play catch and it missed his head by and inch, mommy had enough and went and took the ball and Landon and went back in.Landon loves his bottles as you can see by the above picture, he has to have one in each had at all times. (jk) He does love to have something to drink all the time.
Landon throwing a fit (not really this time, this time he was just trying to tell us something, but its the same idea.) He rocks back and forth and then will throw his head backwards and clap his hands together as he is coming forward, its very funny to watch. He also bangs his head on the back of things, the wall, pews at church, the back of the couch, his car seat, and then laughs hysterically after doing it about 10-15 times, he is a hoot, he gets bouncing so his head just bounces right off.
Landon loves his pickles as you can see, they always make him happy. Either that or crackers. His favorite foods right now are: potatoes, chicken, wagon wheels, cheese, pickles, lolipops and anything he can feed himself. He now will not eat unless he is feeding himself, so we put the food on the spoon or fork and give it to him then he feeds it to himself and when he is done he will hand us the fork back and make the sign language sign for more. He makes that sign all the time now, he will do it when he wants me instead of Noah or when he is on the floor crying he will make that sign and then say MAMA, it melts my heart, how can I help but pick him up, he just wants "more mama" its precious. Landon used to love to eat Raisans, it was the fall back if he would not eat anything else, but now he does not want those, he wants something more. Which is nice for us when we have to change his diaper, no more raisan filled diapers. Oh and while we are on the diaper subject, I kept meaning to tell you how we know he is going potty, forgive me, Im a mom and think its just cute as can be, anyway..... He just hiccups and then its over and he is done, its sooo cute. They were saying a prayer in church one day and right in the middle of it he did his little "HIC" hiccup and Noah and I knew what that meant and both of us tried not to laugh, its just so funny, such a little noise for such a big poop. :O) Landon loves to just stand and look all around, bend over grab a toy and then stand back up, I think he thinks it makes him a big boy. (which he is of course, too big)

I think some times however he thinks he is still tiny, he got in here all by himself, he was ready to get washed up I guess. Trying to tell us something. I am just waiting for the day when I hear him yelling MAMA DADA from the back of the house, only to find him in the bath tub ready for a bath. Which I am so glad he loves bathes, it makes our bed times much easier, or the after meal cleanings much easier. After dinner last night, potato salad which he fed himself, we were very tempted to put him in the tub, clothes and all.

Yes he is on the move, and very quick at that, he follows us everywhere and makes it there faster then us sometimes too. He is good at finding people. Noah got up with him like 15 minutes before I got up this morning and when Noah went outside to put the car seat back in the car, Landon came to find me. I was laying there fixing to get up when I heard the door open and thinking it was Noah was waiting for him to say something, then I hear this "huh huh huh" noise and knew right away that Landon was in the room and out of breath from the long haul from the living room to our bed room, sure enough a second later I feel a little tug on the blanket and Landon was right there face to face with me, "HEY MAMA!!!" it was too cute.

Landon loves to drink out of big boy cups, that is the only way we can get him to drink water, and only out of "big kid" cups, not sippy cups or plastic ones, if we give him a plastic one then he smooshes it and the water shoots out of the top, its rather comical. He will drink too much at one time and have to catch his breath, its funny because I do the same thing, Noah says he learned to drink from me. Sometimes he is laughing so hard because one of us is making faces into the bottom of the cup that when he goes to drink more he misses his mouth and spills all over him, he will gasp from the cold and then laugh some more.

Landon likes to "help" me with the dishes, he unloads the spoons and forks and bangs them on the other dishes to get my attention. Then when I ask him what he laughs and does it again. Its very cute to watch but sometimes he does not really "help" me so much, so I showed him where the cabinets where that he can get into with out braking anything so now he goes to those, when when Im not in the kitchen, thats always a fun thing to come and find. He is so fast with it too, I will make it in there 30 seconds after he is disapered and find lids or pots all over the floor, Ill take a picture of that next time I find it.

We have a gate up to the kitchen and Landon would come and grab it and shake and yell DADA MAMA trying to get into the kitchen, we do not have a gate to the dining room which has a door to the kitchen and he just in the last few days realized that if he goes to long way he can get into the kitchen, so its time for another gate.

Landon with his spoon, helping mama. We find utensils all over the house now.

Landon just plays in is crib now and has figure out that he does not have to sleep he can just play. So getting him down for a nap is lots of fun, so now we just put him in there and let him play and when he gets sleepy he will just plop down where ever, sometimes I find him in very odd positions like the one above. He was just sitting up and I guess fell over asleep, such a goof. When he wakes up sometimes he will scream bloody murder till I come and get him, but most of the time he will either stand up and shake the bars yelling MAMA MAMA or just sit and play and talk for 15- 30 minutes or more sometimes, He gets to his bears on his mobile and plays with them.

I dont know if you can see the purple around Landongs right eye and the little bruise on his forhead, but its his first black eye and bruise. He was climbing up onto the couch and fell down and hit his head on the wood paneling running along the bottom of the couch, he cried for so long and just loved on me the rest of the day, I felt so bad. I hope its his first and last black eye, bruise, but I doubt it is, the kid is fearless, he will slam him fingers into drawers and cabinets and just pull his hand out, look at it and go on about his business.

Landon loves to just sit and watch his movies, Baby Einstine is all we let him watch, and he loves them. In the morning he gets a bottle of milk and then sits in front of the TV and watches his movie. The movie plays repeat most of the day (they are sign language movies so we are hoping he will get them into his head.) but he rarely stops to watch them during the day because there is just to many other things to do and get into. Sometimes he will stop and stare and then just move along.
Sorry this is so long, I will try to update it more so each on wont be so long. Hope yall enjoy.
