Relaxing!

Noah is at a PEC meeting (for church) Landon is taking his nap and I just finished up my personal reading for today and still have about 20 minutes before I need to get Landon up and ready for church so I figured I would update the blog.
( Noah walking out into the water, he did not like the mud at the bottom though, surprise surprise, a guy who would not finger paint as a child because he did not like the feeling of it, did not like the muddy lake bottom. ) :o)

We went to Lake Mead on friday, the man made Lake here right outside of Vegas that was created when Hoover Dam was built. It is very nice and beautiful, the wind was really blowing so we did not "enjoy" that part, but it was great being in the water and Landon really loved it, he played down by the beach and splashed in the water, he giggled when the waves came up and splashed him he love to play in the sand too, but the wind got so bad that it hurt his little face when it hit him and the sand was so hot that he wanted to sit in my lap and play with it the whole time. We had a blast though. I put sun screen on everyone and was so busy doing the mom thing ( we had another little girl with us that I watch named Rhey) that I forgot to put sunscreen on me, needless to say my white girl back got burned, the rest of me did fine, and my poor white legs that never get sun got some and thankfully did not get burned, just had some nice color the next day.

Landon got his birthday present in the mail from our friends Amy, David and Blake Boston. He loves it, when I told him who it was from he looked in the box and said "ammmeee?" I said "yeah its from Amy and David and your buddy Blake" (he is 6 weeks older then Landon) and he looked at me then in the box and back at me and said "Fang ooohhhsss ammmeee" (thank you amy) it was so precious, I cant believe he is learning so fast. I love when he makes a basket because the music starts to play and he will dance when the to the music. He has figured out though that if he sticks his hand in there with or without the ball that the music will still play, so he just does that now. When he makes a basket by throwing the ball he will throw his hands up in the air when they shout hurray for him. Its precious to watch.
Landon has found his baby binkey basket and now he will walk around with them either in his mouth or with the regular one in his mouth and one in each hand. Its so funny, he will crawl all over collecting them all and carry as many as he can, then he will come and share them with us, but he wants them right back. Such a silly boy.

(thought it was cute, still loves to crawl around naked.... what a goofy kid)

Landon and his friend Ila, she is a day younger then Landon and her daddy worked with Noah. They are LDS too and will be moving on base in August, they will be moving onto the street right behind us and will be in our ward, we are very excited... ( I feel horrible, Ila is all dressed and Landon still has on PJS, in my defense though he just got up and had regular clothes put on him right after I took these pictures.) I just thought they are so cute playing together. Landon crawls and walks much faster then Ila, so as soon as she gets to where he is, he usually looks at her and grabs her hand then goes off to play with something else, she is not as quick so by the time she gets there he is ready to move on again. :O) So silly!

Landons car he got for Easter!! He loves to play in it and steer it all over. He is finally figuring out that he can walk and it will move with him. He shut the door on himself the other day, and leaned over the side till his hands hit the ground and he was bent in half then he walked his hands forward along the ground and shimmed himself out and back to the floor, Noah and I were both amazed that he knew how to do that and did not hurt himself.

He also took a step down out the front door yesterday, Noah went outside and Landon was following, I thought he was going to do a face plant and Noah and I both went running to catch him, well he grabbed on to the door frame and just stepped on down and then went on about his business.... getting to big to fast. I dont know what we are going to do with him :O) he keeps us busy thats for sure, my mom says its pay back for all the crazy things I did as a baby.

Well its time to get Landon up but there is so much more I want to tell you about Noahs "old man softball games" (as he so lovingly calls them) that he had this weekend. It was the "playoffs" so as soon as I can I will post that info. :O)

Whole Jenkins Family!! (in las vegas that is)

Noah is going to be training on Monday to become a trainer. He is excited and this is a big deal for him. There have been several people in his facility that have been there longer then him and have more ratings then him that got passed over. Noah and one other guy that has been there about the same time got picked for the two new trainer positions. Noah says that he feels sorry for anyone he has to train. I dont agree I think he will make a great trainer, and obviously so do the people at work who make those decisions. A few weeks ago Noah also had a email confusion at work, that lead him to find out how the Chief felt about him. When they approached the chief about this problem, (they thought he had gotten orders to Korea, dont worry it was just a mix up) but the Chief was adment that he was going to fix it because he was not going to lose Noah. He told him that he was one of the best controllers in the facility and that he did not cause problems, that he was a quiet guy that he never had to worry about and that if he ever had to go overseas for a mission that he wanted Noah with him (ahhhh dont take my husband overseas just yet, but a nice compliment.) So to sum it up, Noah is doing great at work and its not going unnoticed.

We also went to the zoo on Tuesday. It was not very big but it was neat because its a zoo for endangered animals and/or animals in recovery or who were harmed in the wild and would not be able to survive were they still in the wild. It was neat because there were peacocks just walking up and down the trails, they were very neat, there were also mommy chicks and baby chicks walking all over too. I was so excited when one of the peacocks opened its feathers, it was beautiful. Noahs favorite was of course the Tiger, and it was very neat because we got to see all the animals upclose because of the nature of the zoo. The tiger walked right by the fence and then went and took a bath in the pool and swatted flies, she was so beautiful. They had her there to breed because she would not survive in the wild, she and her mate had 6 cubs before he passed away.

Well I guess that about sums it all up for now. Nothing to exciting with me, all the things I tell you about Landon are the things that are happening to me, so whatever I tell you about him is the joys and excitments of my life too. My family is my joy!!!

Getting bigger by the second!

Landon has his first self fed Spaghetti eating experience last night. I loved it but made a real big messy that mommy had to clean up. He was so cute, I loved to watch him and see the mess he made, of course into the tub he went and we had spaghetti floaties. Just wanted to share the cute little man I have.

Landon is still trying to figure out grass, if you try to set him down in it bare foot he will pull his feet up and tuck them into his body so they cant touch the grass. But this time he had jammies on and so he did not feel the grass.
He was helping us with the junk mail ads we get in the mail daily, he was throwing them away for me.He is crawling on the pavement I have been so worried about the cement being too hot and all the bugs, but the bug man came and sprayed and it was early evening so the cement was not hot so I let him venture out on his own, he crawled out the door and down the ledge and into the yard.
He is testing the grass to make sure its okay. He felt it and then would pick it up and look at it and show it to me, then he would run his hands over the grass really really fast to feel it under his hands. It so neat to watch him learn and grow. It brings tears to my eyes when he figures out something new and shows it to me, or when I watch him and the expression on his face when he finally figures something out, its truly priceless and what being a stay at home mom is all about.

Obviously he did not want to hear what ever was being said.

Giving his mommy kisses!!! I love it!!

I found Noahs hat and decided to play with it, I love his beautiful eyes in these pictures and his long eye lashes. Everyone is always telling me how beautiful "she" is and when I correct them (even though he always has on blue or something manly/boyish) they always say, "oh sorry its just those big beautiful eyes and his long eye lashes." they are amazing but he is A BOY!!!! I love the pictures of him playing with the hat I think he looks so cute, he is so much fun to play with and to watch. He laughs all the time and just loves to play with everything.

(my favorite pictures, where you can see his cherry cheeks and gorgeous eyes.)

Life with Toddler Landon

Landon is a mess!!! In a good way of course. He is starting to explore everything since he can crawl, he wants to know what everything is and will point at things or hand things to us and say "Wah?" which we have interpreted to mean "what?" and so we tell him and he will take it away and bring us something new. He thinks the grand father clock is a book shelve and tries to put his books in there, needless to say it does not work so well. He also loves to play the piano so its nice that we have on of the new age electric ones where you can turn it off and he can pushthe keys to his hearts content.
He has discovered that things with whells can be pushed around and they will move. We got him a set off blocks that come in a box with wheels and he pushes it all over, we have blocks all over the house, he has recently discovered that its just small enough to fit under the couch so he will push it under the couch and then lay down on his tummy and reach under there to pull it out. Ah the things that amuse children.

He has also discovered the shoe shelf and loves to remove the shoes, there is not point in having a shelf because they never stay on there.... he also tried to sit in the self but he is a little to big so he gets frustrated.
His latest discovery is the dryer or the dirty close basket. He loves to help me with the laundry and will hand it to me while I am folding it and then get me a new piece, but now that he can crawl he gets to the dirty close basket in the hall and pulls all the close out, he also goes into his room and pulls all his clothes out of his giraffe bag and throws them all over. He goes into rooms and shuts the door then sits behind it so we can not go in there to get him out... smart kid!!! except when he is done and ready to leave he is stuck and starts to whimper then we have to coax him away from the door so we can open it. The newest task is removing the clean clothes and putting them on the floor and then walking away. I turned the corner because he had disapered and found him half way into the dryer, feet off the floor and all trying to get something in the very back, I ran to get the camera but he was out by the time I got a picture taken... its still too cute.

The mess mommy is left with, in the left mid/edge of the picture you can see the white bottom of his footie Pjs crawling quickly away from the crime scene and into mama and dadas bedroom where he has learned to open doors.... a mothers work is never done.
He has to stand up everywhere and loves to play with the little 8 years old, Rhey, that I watch every day. He loves her! He follows her everywhere and has really come out of his shell since we started watching her, before he hated to play with kids and was scared and would cry and now he is like "mom leave me alone my friends are here and Im going to play." he is such a goof. She tots him around like a baby and he does not know what to do but he just follows... he wants to do what big kids do.

Started rolling over on his tummy to sleep and we find him in the weirdest positions, Noah says he wishes he could sleep that could and in that many weird ways and not wake up feeling like he got beat up. :O) Ahh to be little again!!!! I love to go in his room and watch him sleep, he is such a little angel and I can not believe how lucky we are to have such an amazing creature from God, we are so blessed.
HEY!!!!! He is now using a sippy cup. He kept stealing our friends 18 month old daughet, Maren's, cup so we got him his own and he loves it. He still wants a bottle of milk in the morning and one for naps, and he wants a bottle in the car when he is sleepy or scared but majority of the time is a sippy cup... makes our life lots easier and not so messy!!!

The child hates to sit still long enough to change his diaper. The day I took these pictures, I layed him on the floor because he hates the changing table and as soon as I got his diaper off he was up and away. He is so quick and so strong, good thing he was not poopy! Althought when he is poopy I think he knows to sit still or make a mess because he is good when its time to change poop, probably wants it off his bottom. He does scratch down there though and I just know one of these days he is going to get poop on his hands during a diaper change.... then it will require mommy and daddy doing the changing. I can not believe how quick and strong he is, he moves so fast, we call him White Lightening!!! I love these pictures!

Getting into trouble!!! Pulling all his Noahs arc things onto the floor, Mommy caught him before he did too much damage!!! Landons real name must be Hudini!!! Magic little kid!
Landon has gotten a few more words that we are pretty sure we know what they mean we have got it down from what he does when he says the word so here they are. "ESSS" Is Yes, we will ask him a question, "more juice?" "More toys?" and he will say "esss" so we are pretty sure its yes. And then "ohhh" when we tell him "no no bad boy" he will like at us and say "oh" so we will say no again and he will say "ohhh" so we think that means No, and lastly of the new words is "wah" like I said earlier, when he tell him something he will say "wah?" and cock his head to the side so we are pretty sure it means "what?"

We went to the pool at my moms house today and Landon was not so sure about the water it took him a bit to get used to it then he started paddling with his arms and going in circles he also kicked his little legs too and was having a blast, after a bit we just let him float around on his own and he was loving it, the sun was making him sleepy though so he got out and went to the sand area with Nana. He loves to play in the sand and we got him a house set for the sand, but we forgot to bring it with us... we are taking it to Hawaii, I know he is going to have a blast. I am glad we got him used to the water so he will go in the pool in Hawaii, I am still scared to let him in the ocean because I wont even brave it myself, so we will see if Noah can talk me into letting Landon go in, if it does not scare him. Hope you enjoy the pictures, we love you all!!!

Landon and his Nana (my mom) plaing in the sand at the volleyball court. He loves to play in the sand.

Noah is offical

I forgot to tell everyone the good news. Noah is an offical controller, has been for a while now, but now he can work with out anyone else working with him. He does not have to assist anyone, he can do it on his own. YEAH!!! He is almost done with the majority of his training as well and can work anywhere he wants, as long as they will have him, (an why wouldnt they, he is amazing) He also had his yearly PT test and passed it, YEAH!! He has lost 18 pounds which is a shocker, we have been portion controlling and he has lost that much weight, when I have lost only a pound, what is up with that? :O) He is also going to be up for BTZ (senior airman below the zone.) which means he gets to put on his next strip, SRA in November if he makes it, which is also a pay raise for us, so that will be nice. Anyway, just wanted to give you the good news.
